2021 December 2021 Mehmet Remzi Poem

Patience

Does one call it helplessness, I wonder, in these states?
It’s not worth getting upset, just let it be
To the torrents flowing from those beautiful eyes
It’s a pity, let it wipe away your tears

Life is so beautiful, inward and outward
Sometimes it’s sweet as honey, sometimes venomous
Sometimes it’s a union, sometimes a delay
Just become a bit tranquil

I couldn’t figure out the solution in this world
How fortunate are those who patiently savor joy
On the train speeding toward the horizon
Look, let yourself get lost in the horizon too

Dismiss the house and the palace from your imagination
Erase the seasons and months from the calendar
Savor coffee and tea with pleasure
If a greeting arrives, just take it in

Burn your troubles and scatter the ashes
Destroy sorrow, grief, and pain, overturn them
Turn the wheel of love in your heart
Release yourself to good deeds

However fiercely the storm of trouble may blow
Don’t lose hope, await the spring
Imagine roses, red and yellow
Remain in the fragrance’s embrace
