The light seeping from the fringe of time illuminates like the sun.
On one side, there is art, on the other, literature.
Each one, the succession of creatures, sets the heart’s reservoir in motion.
With every sigh, the Divine mark appearing on the body,
An elderly man with white beard asks: “How old are you?”
Echoes from past times reaching our present are mostly our most valuable treasures. Every manifestation of inspiration that sheds light on our present is a torch guiding progress. A future without a past is a distorted shadow. Aimlessness leads to a sorrowful regression.
The “age of speed” referred to as the acceleration of time requires setting goals and keeping those goals fresh. Goals that remain fresh and stable are of great importance not only for the mind but also for keeping the body fit. Just as a passenger who arrives late at the train misses the destination on time, reaching delayed or poorly defined goals becomes equally challenging. The most faithful companion on the path to achieving goals is effort. As much as one strives, a person makes progress.
As Necip Fazıl puts it,
“For a world that lasts a few days,
Effort upon effort,
But for the eternal life,
There’s no effort, how strange!”
Yet, there are various depictions and poems about a tulip that have reached our present. Süheyl Ünver, Osman the Inscriber, Matrakçı Nasuh, and Abdullah Buhari are the pioneers of these valuable tulip depictions, each one turning hearts into gardens with their delicate souls, precious artists of their time. Nedim is the poet of the Tulip Era’s Divan Poetry, leaving behind dozens of works. Sayyid Wahbi, Jalabizada Asim, Osmanzada Taib, and many other poets of the time adorned their poems with the word “tulip.”[1] Not only the beauty of seeing and thinking beautifully but also the preservation of these works until our day would be a full moon on the path of art and literature. Because each work is an illuminated heart’s composition.
For artists, the manifestations of the Divine Names in the universe are a source of inspiration. Every sign presented to human comprehension is a gem, a gift. The All-Knowing Inscriber, Who crafts every image in the universe and adorns each verse in the Qur’an with miracles and wisdom, is the greatest Artist, eternal and everlasting.
Writing is so precious and important that the word “pen” has been designated as a name for a chapter in the Holy Qur’an. Ancestors described the meeting of pen and paper as the “prostration of the pen.” The sustenance of the pen is ink, while the sustenance of the writer and artist is the grand universe. Responding to all the beauty bestowed upon humanity with gratitude is essential.
Solves sorrows,
Meets needs,
Every aspect of gratitude
Convenient for Him.
To hearts, it’s life-giving.
